Women Over 40 by Andy Rooney

“As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, “What are you thinking?” She doesnt care what you think. If a woman over 40 doesn’t want to watch the game, she doesn’t sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and its usually more interesting. Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they wont hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it. Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what its like to be unappreciated. Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart. Older women are forthright and honest. They’ll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You dont ever have to wonder where you stand with her. Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, its not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, “Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?”, heres an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize its not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage! “

I just finished reading Andy Rooney’s commentary on “Women Over 40″. Having just been “dumped” for being a busy, professional, 40-something woman, who is honest and refuses to sit around waiting for a man to decide to call, it’s nice to know that at least one man in the world thinks these are good qualities…Andy do you have any single friends who share your views? I won’t wake them up in the middle of the night to ask what they are thinking. Promise.

HOW RIGHT YOU ARE MR. ROONEY – THERE SHOULD BE MORE MEN LIKE YOU AROUND. LOVED THE COMMENT ABOUT THE PIG AND THE SAUSAGE WE OVER 40 WOMEN AT WORK HAD A GREAT LAUGH. LET’S HEAR MORE GREAT THINGS ABOUT US FORTY-SOMETHING WOMEN.

I just turned 40 today.I think at this age, us women have finally learned how to relaxe and just say “Let it Go” when it comes to men. We’ve learned to stop fighting it and just live our lives, and this is what makes the women over 40 more appealing to men. But in the end….what has made it nicer for us ?????? We’ve learned…we’ve changed…but we are still dealing with the same things we were dealing with before.

I turned fourty this year, and inspite of some of the negative things that have happened in my life, I still feel 28 and confident. I am going back to school soon to start a new direction career wise. This time, it’s a career I will actually enjoy. I noticed that I am listening to myself more, and just enjoying being by myself, often. I do have a man who loves me, and my brightest spot in my life is my 4 yr old son. I love the man in my life, but I don’t want to marry just yet. I’ve been married before for 18 yrs, and I am enjoying just having my own identity right now.

I am only 37 but hoping at age 40 I can also be this independent and say “Let it go” with my husband. I have cared so much about what he thinks about me for 20 years now that I hope this happens to me. I can see me advancing but I cannot wait until I am entirely there. It will be such a free feeling. For once, I want my husband to want me like I have wanted him for the past years. It always seems like he doesn't care if I am here or not…

The original was “Women Over 30″ by Andy Rooney, this has been changed. He really did hit it on the head w/ the 30 decade, we need a NEW one for turning 40.
