Channel 9′s Georgina McGuinness may be pondering her future – soon after celebrating her 40th birthday and two decades reading the news.

But AdelaideNow visitors are overwhelmingly of the same mind. They want Georgie girl to keep on keeping on.

More than 1000 visitors had cast their vote last night. More are expected to agree in the next 24 hours.

The popular identity says she has reached the point of her career where she is wondering if she has an expiry date.

“I turned 40 four months ago, I’ve been in TV for 20 years, you do ask yourself these questions – how much longer should I do it?,” McGuinness said.

“When have you passed your use-by date? Women in the media probably ask it more.”

Since the young reporter stepped into the newsreader’s chair in 1988, the mother-of-four has built up a loyal viewer base and says she wants to stay “as long as audiences will have me”.
