A week from today I will turn 40

A week from today I will turn 40, which in ways is strange to me. I loved my 30′s, I spent time coaching my daughter’s cheerleading squad, went to my son’s little league baseball games, and my 40′s means I will have to systematically kiss each one of my kids goodbye, they will go off to college and begin their own lives, and where does that leave me? It is a mother’s angst and it is as old as time. Me and hubby will probably stare at each other wondering what we are supposed to do, much like we do now when the kids aren’t home. We started out without kids, but, I only have a vague recollection of what that was like, my life has been about my kids, and my 40′s will see my seperation from them. I’m both mournful and excited, it’s going to be an ending chapter in my life, but the beginning of a new one. Please tell me there is someone out there who is going through what I am going through.
